The sheer beauty of the roses in a friend’s garden inspired this painting. The rose, in many ancient myths, symbolizes love and compassion, something that is sorely needed on the planet as this time. Opening our hearts seems to present a challenge to many of us as it tests our willingness to be vulnerable. It is this collective opening that represents the greatest possibility for planetary healing. Here, the moon symbolizes the light of feminine consciousness.
The message: Surrendering to the power of love is our reason for being on the Earth. It is our sacred responsibility as sentient beings to take this path as a means of bringing Light and Love to the evolution of human consciousness. To not choose love is a betrayal of the Universe and ourselves.

This painting was inspired by my wish to have the masculine and feminine energies in balance and harmony, through compassion. It followed a story that my brother told me about being rescued on the high seas after a sudden storm overtook his fishing boat and threatened to sink it. A pod of dolphins suddenly arrived and calmly accompanied the boat back to the harbor. It was evidence of the beauty and harmony that can come about through compassion. even through cross-species communication. In this painting, the female dolphin is in a state of radiance while the masculine dolphin honors her.
